About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Accountant to join our team at Sheridan Maine South. As a key member of our tax department, you will be responsible for leading tax compliance and reporting activities, ensuring that all regulatory obligations are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Tax Compliance: Oversee the submission of Corporation Tax, VAT, and returns in line with legislation and deadlines.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Oversee tax disclosures in year-end accounts, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with Internal Teams: Collaborate with Payroll and HR on employment tax matters as needed.
  • Maintain Documentation and Controls: Ensure robust documentation and controls are in place for all tax-related matters, maintaining compliance with Senior Accounting Officer legislation.
  • Lead and Develop a Team Member: Develop and manage a direct report, fostering their professional growth.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: ACA, ATT, or CTA qualification with 2+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Business Acumen: Broad knowledge and understanding of Corporation Tax, VAT and the commercial business environment.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and resolve inconsistencies in financial data.
