Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Surveyor to join our client's expanding Cambridge office. As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality services to clients across various sectors, including commercial, healthcare, education, and defense.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a building surveyor on various projects, from inception to completion, and liaise with team members and stakeholders as necessary.
  • Manage junior colleagues' work to ensure quality and timeliness of service provided to clients and act as the point of contact.
  • Manage own workload and report to team lead and office Partner on financial forecasting and progress of commissions.
  • Continually improve own profitability by managing time and resources allocated to projects and ensuring that time spent on projects is recorded and fee invoicing is carried out at appropriate stages.
  • Liaise with other consultants, internal and external, to ensure fully integrated production of documentation for the work.
  • Liaise with all necessary authorities in relation to the work.
  • Attend site for meetings to understand and clearly define clients' expectations to provide advice, keep them informed of progress, and make them aware of technical and financial implications.
  • Market the services and the Practice to new and existing clients in order to increase workload.
  • Prepare and contribute toward fee bids relevant to building surveying and multi-disciplinary projects.

Requirements

  • Degree/Masters in Building Surveying
  • 2 years PQE experience ideally
  • MRICS or MAPM qualified
  • Varied project and sector experience
  • Project Management experience
