Policy and Public Affairs Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Policy and Public Affairs Officer to join our team at Charity People. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our charity partners in their policy and public affairs activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide policy support and monitoring to ensure our charity partners have a strong voice and messages are heard at a national and regional level.
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder engagement, manage parliamentary contacts, and align stakeholder mapping with policy objectives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure robust, challenging, and independent advocacy and campaigns.
  • Develop and implement a press office function to raise our charity partners' profile and reputation.
  • Provide data analysis to support decision-making and maintain data accuracy.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Policy and Public Affairs Officer who has at least two years' experience working in policy and public affairs. You will have excellent knowledge of local and national government structures, the UK and devolved parliaments within a policy context, and experience of political and media mapping.

You will be able to demonstrate strong communication skills, excellent analytical and decision-making skills, and the ability to translate data and evidence into actionable insights. You will also be skilled in using video content to communicate policy objectives and public affairs work.
