We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team on a part-time basis. This 12-month contract will involve working 15 hours per week, either two full days or split.

The Role

As a Laboratory Technician, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for project-related activities. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in and coordinating activities related to testing new product developments, evaluating prototypes, developing and validating test methods, and maintaining lab records.
  • Participating in production trials, including the hand assembly of trial/pilot batches of medical products and potential visits to manufacturing sites.
  • Working in a regulated laboratory environment, utilizing your technical background and expertise to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Key Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A technical background, preferably with experience working in a regulated laboratory environment.
  • A Chemistry or Life Sciences qualification, such as an A-level or degree, or similar.
  • Knowledge of test systems, preferably in vitro systems, and physical/analytical testing of materials and prototypes.
  • Knowledge of materials used in the medical field, particularly wound care, although this is not essential.
  • Computer and math literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Benefits

This part-time opportunity offers a competitive salary of £23,000 - £25,231 (full-time equivalent) and 26 days holiday + public holidays (pro-rata). If you have the desired experience and skills, we encourage you to apply today.
