About the Role

KPMG is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our data governance efforts across the UK Audit business. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and trustworthiness of our data assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a robust data strategy to guide the management of our complex data landscape.
  • Design and oversee a data governance framework to create high-quality data assets across Audit.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish clear accountabilities and responsibilities for data ownership and stewardship.
  • Facilitate business forums to provide strategic oversight and governance for data and information.
  • Conduct data maturity assessments to measure performance and support the business in developing action plans to improve data management.
  • Establish policies and processes to manage data throughout its lifecycle.
  • Monitor data quality, report on it, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Champion data best practices in audit and promote a culture of data stewardship.

Requirements

  • Proven knowledge of data governance practices, business, and technology issues related to information asset management.
  • Deep functional skills in data quality management, including profiling, cleansing, and enrichment.
  • Experience with data quality management processes and data management systems.
  • Knowledge of data-related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships, communicate technical topics to non-technical stakeholders, and lead culture change initiatives.
