We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Roads Management Officer to become part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing exceptional service within the East Lothian Council Roads Services department. We seek a proactive individual with expertise in the design, evaluation, and upkeep of roadway systems.
Your contributions will be vital in upholding the quality and standards of road maintenance and associated infrastructure throughout East Lothian. This role will involve conducting topographical surveys and inspections to support design preparation, creating technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD), and preparing contract documentation utilizing the NEC suite of contracts. Additionally, you will undertake CDM designer responsibilities, which encompass the generation of pre-construction information. You will also be tasked with assessing, reviewing, prioritizing, and preparing work orders, as well as supervising on-site activities carried out by both internal teams and external contractors, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and industry best practices.
The ideal candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling them to establish effective working relationships swiftly. Proficiency in IT is essential, as digital tools are integral to daily operations. You will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team of technical professionals and engage with a diverse audience, including both technical and non-technical stakeholders, as well as members of the public.

Home Working Consideration
