Position Overview

An exciting opportunity has emerged to become a part of the Estates, Facilities and Support Services Directorate as a Safety and Security Specialist within the Security Division. This role is essential in delivering a comprehensive security service across multiple healthcare facilities.

Candidates will be expected to provide a flexible, high-quality service that prioritizes the well-being of patients, staff, and visitors, while also effectively managing and responding to challenging situations with prompt and courteous action.

Key Responsibilities

This position is integral to an in-house service dedicated to safeguarding the Trust. The primary responsibility will be to maintain a visible and effective presence to ensure the safety of all individuals on-site, as well as the protection of property.

The successful candidate will also oversee the operational efficiency of parking facilities, ensuring they are utilized correctly by visitors and staff. It is crucial that all incidents involving aggression, property damage, or loss are documented immediately and reported to the Security Manager.

A valid, clean driving license is required, along with prior experience in conflict resolution within a healthcare setting. Comprehensive training in Physical Intervention techniques will be provided.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Criteria

  • Experience in a security role within a healthcare environment
  • Previous security-related experience
  • Willingness to participate in on-the-job training and attend specialized courses, including Control & Restraint/Physical Intervention training

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in a customer-facing role
  • Background in physical intervention or control and restraint
