Apprentice Production Engineer

Job Title: Apprentice Production Engineer
Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum, including shift allowance
Location: Stonehouse, Gloucestershire
Renishaw's Manufacturing division is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Apprentice Production Engineer to join our team. As an Apprentice Production Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and developing process finishing processes within a highly complex and challenging precision manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and development of processes within the assigned manufacturing area
- Introduce robust process finishing processes and create supporting production documentation
- Investigate process problems and implement corrective actions
- Conduct continuous improvement activities using fact-based metrics
- Analyse process performance data to identify improvement actions
- Interact with product division and support services within the manufacturing services division
Requirements:
- Degree-level education in a relevant technical discipline, such as Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Manufacturing Systems
- Knowledge of CNC manufacturing and CAD/CAM systems
- Good communication and PC skills, with the ability to work with minimal support
- Experience working with fine tolerances and precision equipment
- Ability to understand technical drawings and geometric tolerances
Desirable Requirements:
- Proven success in supporting and improving technically challenging, high-precision engineering processes
- Successful application of structured problem-solving and statistical analysis techniques
- Good understanding of production metrics, such as productivity, efficiency, waste, and cost of quality
- Mechanical design awareness, including tooling, jigs, fixtures, and process models
- Understanding of metrology, measurement techniques, and calibration
