Empowering Students with Special Educational Needs

Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and empathetic individuals to join our team as SEN Teaching Assistants across Manchester. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personalized support to students with SEN in both mainstream and SEN-specific settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Assist students with academic tasks, including literacy, numeracy, and life skills development, adapting teaching materials as necessary.
  • Implement effective behavior management strategies and provide emotional support to students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the holistic development and well-being of students with SEN.
Requirements:

Exceptional interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to working with individuals with diverse learning needs are essential. Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support, education, psychology, or a related field are desirable but not essential. Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant is not necessary. Subject to Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to undergo this process).

We offer flexible working hours and assignments tailored to your availability and preferences. Both full-time and part-time roles are available. You will have the opportunity to work in a variety of educational settings, including mainstream schools, specialist SEN schools, and inclusion units. Ongoing training and support from a dedicated team of SEN specialists will be provided.
