GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team of professionals in Chelmsford. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the best possible education and care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEND, SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and other additional needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt lesson plans and ensure they meet the individual needs of students while following the curriculum.
  • Support students academically and personally, helping them build confidence, independence, and social skills.
  • Assist in managing classroom behavior and promoting a positive, supportive learning environment.
  • Step in to assist classroom activities when teachers are unavailable, ensuring continuity in learning.
  • Work closely with the SENCO and other staff members to ensure all students' needs are met.
Requirements:
  • CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (preferred but not required).
  • A degree in Education, Psychology, or a relevant field is advantageous.
  • Prior experience working with children in an SEN environment or as a SEN Teaching Assistant is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and nurturing approach.
  • Ability to adapt to the individual needs of students and provide them with tailored support.

Please note that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
