SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our partner mainstream secondary schools in the Loughborough area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to SEN students within a mainstream secondary classroom, ensuring they access the curriculum effectively.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement tailored learning plans, focusing on individual needs and goals for SEN students.
  • Support students with their physical, emotional, and social development, promoting a sense of inclusion and belonging within the school community.
  • Encourage positive behavior and independence, working closely with the classroom teacher and SENCO to maintain a productive learning environment.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers, SENCO, and parents.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or SEN Support Worker in a secondary school or similar environment.
  • A caring and patient approach with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Understanding of various SEN conditions, including Autism, ADHD, and physical disabilities.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, are desirable but not essential.
