Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join Lancashire County Council as a Senior Accountant, where you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day financial tasks and providing expert advice to senior managers and Members.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate complex financial information into simple, understandable language for senior managers and Members.
- Analyse large amounts of internal and external data to inform financial decisions.
- Complete Central Government returns and research government projections and policies.
- Network with other Councils and gather intelligence on complex financial areas and their impact on the authority and wider Lancashire area.
- Assess the financial implications of various scenarios and provide recommendations to senior managers and Members.
Requirements
- Good knowledge of local government funding and the complexities within it.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
