Position Overview

This role offers 21 hours of work per week.

The Emergency Department at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust serves an average of 1600 patients weekly, operating around the clock throughout the year. In alignment with Department of Health guidelines, it is essential that all patients are seen, treated, and either discharged or admitted within a four-hour timeframe upon arrival.

The Emergency Department is a highly active environment. Personnel in this area will encounter blood and other bodily fluids regularly. Staff will frequently face challenging situations and are expected to support one another, with established reporting and support systems in place. It is crucial for staff to be prepared for potential face-to-face confrontations. For a comprehensive overview of the role, please refer to the detailed job description.

Key Responsibilities

You will be tasked with welcoming all patients arriving at the Emergency Department, ensuring their registration is conducted efficiently and professionally. Your role will include providing administrative assistance to the nursing and clinical teams, ensuring accurate clinical coding, scheduling urgent ambulance services, and managing documentation such as photocopying and scanning patient information, all while maintaining a professional demeanor.

This position operates on a continuous shift pattern of four days on followed by four days off, throughout the year, including weekends and public holidays.

Shift Details:

Totaling 21 hours per week over an 8-day shift cycle.
