About the Role:We are looking for an experienced HLTA with a strong understanding of SEMH needs and excellent behaviour management skills. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with students with SEMH needs and be able to adapt to their individual learning styles.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide tailored support to secondary age students with SEMH needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to plan and deliver educational activities.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to create a safe and positive learning environment.
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating students' progress, both academically and socially.
- Facilitate small group sessions and one-to-one support to address individual needs.
- Contribute to the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
- Support the school's SEN policies and contribute to the development of students' Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Proven experience as an HLTA, specifically within SEMH or SEN settings.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH needs.
- Excellent behaviour management skills and strategies.
- Ability to build rapport with secondary age students and adapt to their individual learning styles.
