We are seeking an experienced and organized Ward Clerk to join our administration team on the Same Day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC) at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a point of contact for the receipt of inquiries, providing general information and resolving routine problems and issues arising from contacts.
- Undertake basic ward clerk tasks, including production and issuing of standard and routine letters, distribution of incoming/outgoing post, photocopying, and completion of standard forms/returns.
- Collate all relevant patient records, ensuring their availability for clinical staff when required, and be responsible for the maintenance of relevant filing systems.
- May be required to type/word process routine letters and other appropriate documents.
- As necessary, make transport arrangements for patients and ensure that any follow-up patient appointments are made prior to patient discharge.
- Input data to relevant computerized databases and interrogate such databases for standard information on both a regular and ad-hoc basis.
We are looking for an individual with:
- GCSE Level or equivalent qualification in Maths and English at C or above.
- Computer literacy skills to RSA2, NVQ 2 or equivalent.
- Previous office/administrative experience in an NHS environment (desirable).
- Experience of dealing with confidential information (desirable).
