We are seeking a highly skilled Software Developer to join our Cloud team in the R&D department at GBV Ltd.

The successful candidate will be responsible for accelerating our company's exciting product roadmap of Cloud connected systems and digital services, which form the core of our development projects.

This includes migrating to a microservices architecture as well as adding new features and functionality.

The role is a full stack position, but with an emphasis on Back End skills, specifically NodeJs. We are looking for a senior-level candidate with experience in complex applications and a strong background in RESTful API development.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of functional and object-oriented JavaScript, as well as SQL and experience with Scrum and Agile Methodology.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Design and implementation of new features for the Cloud service
  • Building on existing functionality to deliver further value to customers
  • Implementation of architectural improvements
  • Investigation and resolution of system defects
  • Supporting deployments into both development and Live environments

The successful candidate must have:

  • Strong experience with NodeJs and Express
  • Strong proficiency with SQL and skilled at writing and optimizing large, complicated SQL statements
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills
  • Reviewing application requirements and interface designs
  • Identifying web-based user interactions and general user experience flow
  • Developing and implementing responsive user interface components
  • Experience in the full software development life cycle
  • Experience in Scrum and Agile Methodology

It would be an advantage if the candidate had:

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK/CDKTF etc.)
  • Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application using Event Driven Architecture, microservice architecture etc
  • Experience in deploying to and monitoring applications in AWS or other cloud infrastructure
  • Good understanding of Server Side templating languages (such as Pug, EJS, etc)

The salary for this position is circa £70k, with the possibility of higher compensation for an outstanding candidate.
