Job Title: Engineer in Training

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineer in Training to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As an Engineer in Training, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of our building management systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review project specifications and designs to identify commissioning issues
  • Work with the commissioning requirements and report any need to deviate from the existing design
  • Collaborate with M&E commissioning engineers on site
  • Liaise with the project manager to highlight operational problems
  • Develop software programs, graphics, and commission and troubleshoot to ensure proper operations of the building control system
  • Coordinate and create necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation
  • Select materials for assigned projects
  • Load and commission system and network-level controllers
  • Validate complete system functionality and troubleshoot problems with subcontractors
  • Manage and complete the loading, device verification, and commissioning of all system controllers as required
  • Keep current accurate records of commissioning progress
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in BMS Control systems
  • HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Previous experience in creating/updating BMS software and graphics
  • Good working knowledge of BMS Industry standards protocols
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Industry standard H&S certification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Good computer literacy (MS Office; Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • A passion for leading change within the team and become a role model amongst peers
  • Ability to work alone and when necessary, within a larger design team
  • Full clean UK Driving License
Preferred:
  • Professional Certifications/Diploma within the related field
  • Working knowledge of Metasys systems
  • Ability to Install BMS servers / workstations
