Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide medical leadership within the team, ensuring high-quality care for patients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing urgent assessments, including mental health act assessments, within normal working hours.
  • Conducting regular assessments in Tier 3, typically one to two per week, depending on the active case load.
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans, including medication and mental state monitoring.
  • Managing a shared care case load and collaborating with care coordinators and team members to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Participating in 140 CPA reviews with care coordinators and team members, as agreed with the team manager.
  • Providing psychiatric assessments at the local District General Hospitals for emergencies.
  • Conducting occasional psychiatric assessments outside the team base, including home visits.
  • Liaising with colleagues in paediatrics and community paediatrics, as well as the London Borough of Richmond children's social care and education departments.
  • Chairing the CAMHS higher trainees Seminar, typically once per academic term.
  • Providing training to the team and colleagues working across CAMHS, with a focus on Neurodevelopmental Disorders.
  • Offering clinical supervision to CAMHS higher trainees within the team.
