Bosch is seeking a dedicated and skilled Automotive Workshop Technician to join our team.
In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining our workshops, ensuring the smooth operation of our training programs, and supporting our apprentices.
Key Responsibilities:- Workshop Management: Oversee and actively participate in workshop maintenance, equipment preparation, and material organization. This includes conducting risk assessments to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Apprentice Development: Mentor and guide a workshop apprentice through their Level 2 qualification, providing valuable hands-on training and support.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Manage the Doncaster training fleet, recommending vehicle rotation or disposal strategies. Ensure all vehicles are meticulously maintained to meet operational standards.
- Teaching Support: Assist in the delivery of Motor Vehicle and Engineering training by acting as a second trainer when required. Emphasize safety protocols and guide students in project and workshop areas.
- Training Aid Development: Contribute to the creation of workshop training aids used within technical programs, enhancing the learning experience for students.
- Communication & Collaboration: Liaise with Brand, Quality, and Curriculum Managers to ensure seamless workshop operations. Promptly report any issues related to staff or equipment that require attention.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure efficient maintenance of all workshop equipment, minimizing downtime due to breakdowns. Prepare estimates for repairs and, where possible, carry out repairs within the workshops.
- Inventory Management: Maintain an organized and safe storage system for parts, consumables, and materials. Ensure adequate stock levels are maintained, including flammable and hazardous items.
- EPA Support: Provide technical support during the End Point Assessment (EPA) process, assisting with technician duties and any required support throughout the assessment.
- Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety procedures. Promptly identify and address any issues related to staff, equipment, or materials.
- Stock Management: Conduct regular stock checks of equipment, materials, and consumables. Identify replacement needs and assist with the annual inventory process.
- General Maintenance: Contribute to general maintenance tasks within the workshop areas and training facility as required.
- First Aid Responsibilities: Be included in the staff first aid list and provide first aid assistance when needed.
