Job Title: Senior Data Strategist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Strategist to join our team at Statkraft Group. As a Senior Data Strategist, you will play a key role in developing and improving weather forecasts for our portfolios across Europe.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and improve weather forecasts using numerical weather forecasts and statistical models.
  • Analyse latest weather forecasts and contribute to daily trading decisions.
  • Integrate applied research into weather forecasting and atmospheric predictability.
  • Visualise and communicate weather variations on different spatial and temporal scales.
  • Develop statistical arbitrage strategies for power and gas markets.
Requirements:
  • PhD or relevant experience in NWP models.
  • Experience in handling large weather data sets.
  • Experience with ECMWF forecasts and other predictions of atmospheric variability.
  • Strong interest in short-term energy markets, renewable energy, algorithms, and data science.
  • Highly analytical and data-driven individual with advanced statistical and machine learning skills.
  • Modelling and programming experience in Python.
  • Strong commercial mindset and interest in energy trading.
