Job Overview

Job Title: Principal Engineer - Product Safety Engineering

Location: Various locations across the UK, with flexible working arrangements available.

Salary: Circa £55,000 per annum.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer to join our Product Safety Team, working on highly complex systems within the Submarine programme. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the governance of safety analysis and assessment activities, ensuring process approvals, and providing feedback and constructive criticism when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of safety analysis and assessment processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety requirements are met.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on safety-related matters.
  • Develop and maintain safety-related documentation and records.
  • Identify and mitigate safety risks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in Industrial Controls Systems and Functional Safety.
  • Strong knowledge of IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
