We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our team at Futura Design Limited. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative products that meet the needs of our OEM clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop new and updated accessory projects, considering function, cost, manufacture, assembly, and quality.
- Produce high-quality 3D CAD models using Creo and 2D engineering drawings to ASME Y14.5.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Industrial Design, Strategic Sourcing, Quality Assurance, and OE Product Development.
- Liaise with internal departments, such as Sourcing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Assembly, as well as outside suppliers.
- Manage your own time and workload effectively and create and manage timing plans for your areas of responsibility.
- Bachelor's degree (minimum 2:1) with proficiency in 3D CAD, preferably Pro-engineer / CREO.
- Minimum 3 years' experience designing for manufacture and showing a good knowledge of processes, such as castings, forgings, sheet metal, and injection mouldings.
- Experience of creating and releasing 2D technical drawings to ASME Y and understanding of geometric tolerances on 2D drawings.
- Good understanding of motorcycle chassis layout and construction, as well as practical experience of vehicle maintenance and preparation.
- Experience supporting and mentoring junior team members is advantageous, and IMechE membership is desirable.
