Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the shift operations in collaboration with the Control Room Manager.
  • Ensure daily production targets are met or exceeded by actively engaging in the operational area.
  • Maintain clear communication with operational teams regarding targets, changes, and expectations.
  • Monitor production start-up and throughput metrics throughout the day.
  • Ensure site safety for all personnel, supported by the Health and Safety Manager.
  • Coordinate with logistics on infeed requirements and outfeed production.
  • Adapt to changing business demands through effective planning.
  • Follow up on staff instructions to ensure tasks are completed satisfactorily.
  • Report maintenance issues by raising work orders and coordinating with contractors.
  • Manage daily site operations and coordinate teams effectively, escalating major issues to the Site Operations Manager.
  • Address staffing challenges, both for agency and directly employed personnel.
  • Ensure all necessary equipment is available and suitable for operational needs.
  • Prepare daily handover reports detailing production outcomes and any outstanding issues for the incoming shift.
  • Share best practices with other shifts to enhance overall efficiency.
  • Participate in operational meetings and contribute actively.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in the recycling industry is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record in managing a production facility.
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to provide structure and guidance.
  • Ability to maintain morale during challenging situations.
  • Competence in compiling detailed reports.
