Associate Mechanical Design Engineer Position

Bennett and Game Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Associate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Central London office. The successful candidate will lead the engineering design on multiple projects across various sectors, including Commercial, Arts & Culture, Education, Residential, Mixed Use, and Heritage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the engineering design on multiple projects, ensuring coordination of building services design with external teams.
  • Provide technical engineering leadership, developing innovative concept designs and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
  • Carry out engineering design tasks, including load calculations, modeling, equipment sizing, and delegating tasks to junior engineers.
  • Produce design packages, including sketches, drawings, stage reports, specifications, and technical schedules.
  • Liaise with equipment manufacturers and utility suppliers to review technical equipment selections and ensure compliance with design requirements.
  • Ensure design compliance with relevant building regulations, planning policy, British standards, and CIBSE guidelines.
  • Visit sites and liaise with contractors to ensure design intent is followed and complete site inspection reports.
  • Be aware of health and safety issues in construction and understand designer's obligations under Construction Design and Management Regulations.
Requirements
  • 10 years' experience as a building services engineer.
  • Chartered membership of CIBSE, IMechE, or IET.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or relevant engineering degrees.
  • Competent with AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM software.
  • In-depth knowledge of building regulations and CIBSE guidelines.
