Advanced Practitioner Vet Training Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated veterinary surgeon to join our team as an Advanced Practitioner in a unique training role.

This exciting opportunity involves working with our referral services, emergency critical care, and first opinion team, providing a perfect blend of clinical independence and support as you continue to develop your skills.

As a clinical associate practice of Nottingham Vet School, we are committed to helping develop the next generation of vets and continually developing our team to the highest standards.

The role includes:

Referrals

Working alongside our referral clinicians, you will have the opportunity to follow challenging cases from start to finish, develop new skills and knowledge, and complete the University of Nottingham's RCVS Certificate of Advanced Veterinary Practice (CertAVP).

First Opinion

You will dedicate 2 days per week to first opinion general practice work, including routine and emergency consultations and surgery in a supportive environment.

Emergency Out-of-Hours Work

The role also includes six nights and two weekend day shifts dedicated to emergency out-of-hours work, with a structured ECC induction programme and access to telephone support from experienced ECC clinicians.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Eligible for enrolment in the University of Nottingham's RCVS CertAVP
  • Eager to learn and develop new skills
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • RCVS registered, or eligible to register
