Job Description

Assystem Energy & Infrastructure is seeking a highly skilled Global Commodity Manager to join our team on a contract basis. This role will be based at our customer's site in Derby.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and partners at all levels, ensuring operational performance and strategic direction.
  • Cost Management: Oversee cost performance of designated supply chains, ensuring alignment with business and customer requirements. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement strategies to achieve long-term cost improvements.
  • Strategy Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy commodity strategies, providing a clear vision and framework for designated supply chains.
  • Process and Procedure Management: Ensure compliance with company policies, processes, and procedures, maintaining accurate purchasing records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Resource Management: Lead the commodity team, ensuring adequate resourcing, training, and capability to achieve success.
  • Other Responsibilities: Deputize for the Head of Direct/Indirect Procurement as required, representing the company externally with suppliers, customers, and other third parties.

Requirements:

  • Effective Planning and Execution: Demonstrate ability to plan and execute sourcing and commercial activities to maximize value within designated supply chains.
  • Commercial Skills: Possess strong commercial skills, including negotiation of terms and conditions.
  • Supply Chain Understanding: Develop and implement supply chain strategies to meet quality and delivery requirements.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Motivate and lead a high-performing team, fostering effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Security Clearance: Hold a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Be a UK national or, in MoD-approved cases, a Dual National from a non-ITAR country.
