Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Assessment: Ensure the correct assessment of risk in accordance with our underwriting guidelines, as outlined in our Underwriting Procedures Manual.
  • Compliance: Fully adhere to our Underwriting Procedures Manual and all processes therein, ensuring high levels of service to our members and brokers.
  • Business Development: Develop and maintain relationships with our members and brokers to ensure the retention and development of our portfolio for the mutual benefit of mbf.
  • New Business Opportunities: Identify, attract, and develop new business opportunities that are of mutual benefit to mbf.
  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and analyze the performance of business within our portfolio, highlighting and addressing areas of concern that require action.
  • Premium Management: Ensure all outstanding premium is paid prior to binding of renewals in conjunction with our finance team.
  • Blue Card Issuance: Responsible for approving and ensuring the correct issuance of blue cards.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Share knowledge, information, and experience across the Underwriting team.
  • Training and Development: Develop the skills and knowledge required for the effective performance of the role by participating in and actively contributing to training and development activities.
  • Sanctions Screening: Ensure sanctions screening has been undertaken on our members, other named parties, and all vessels.
  • Continuous Professional Development: Complete a minimum of 15 hours of Continuous Professional Development annually.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an Underwriting role, with experience in Yachts or experience in Yacht broking.
  • Skilled negotiator and service-oriented.
  • Proven experience of business development and broker/underwriter liaison.
  • Analytical skills, with excellent report writing ability.
