We are seeking a part-time, skilled gardener and maintenance assistant. In this role, you will support general upkeep tasks within the facility and ensure that the outdoor areas remain inviting and well-maintained throughout the seasons. This position offers a diverse range of responsibilities aimed at enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the grounds while contributing to the overall maintenance of the property.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform soil preparation, digging, mulching, watering, raking, weeding, edging, pruning, and planting.
2. Maintain cleanliness and organization of sheds, outbuildings, and waste storage areas.
3. Clear snow and apply grit to pathways, driveways, and other accessible areas for residents, visitors, and staff.
4. Care for flower beds, hanging baskets, and other outdoor floral arrangements.
5. Clean external signage and lighting fixtures.
6. Assist with routine maintenance tasks within the facility, including painting and repairs as needed and within your skill set.
7. Support the execution of scheduled maintenance checks on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
8. Ensure that both the facility and grounds adhere to established maintenance standards while performing various gardening tasks with minimal supervision.

Relevant experience and qualifications in garden upkeep, minor electrical work, plumbing, and carpentry, along with an understanding of heating systems, will be beneficial.

Essential Qualifications:

Familiarity with Health and Safety regulations
Valid and clean driving license
Strong problem-solving skills
Knowledge of COSHH regulations
Availability for occasional out-of-hours access
