About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Shop Manager to lead our charity retail division in Central and West London. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving sales, donations, and gift aid while managing a team of volunteers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, develop, and motivate a high-performing team to achieve sales and profit targets.
  • Analyze customer profiles, buying trends, and competitive information to drive business growth.
  • Oversee the execution and processing of incoming and outgoing donations.
  • Ensure the visual presentation of the shop meets or exceeds Octavia standards.
  • Communicate and manage community engagement initiatives and events within budget and according to policies and procedures.
  • Build relationships with the local community to increase volunteering and donations.
  • Attend and contribute to regular team meetings and training, sharing best practices with Octavia's core values.
  • Support all fundraising activity and champion community engagement as a brand ambassador for Octavia.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced shop manager with strong commercial acumen, excellent customer and people management skills, and the ability to drive sales and donations. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working in charity retail or high street retail.
  • Excellent customer service, team working, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of displaying, selling, and promoting high-end luxury items.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to create a customer journey to the highest level.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure, be a problem solver, and decision maker.
  • Good level of numeracy.
  • Ability to create high-end visual displays and shop layout.
  • At least two years' previous experience in a retail environment.

Benefits

This is a 35-hour per week role paying an annual salary of £25,260 plus fantastic benefits, including up to 10% pension contributions and the opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative team.
