About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Maintenance Technician to join our team at Unite Students. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for delivering a range of maintenance and repair services across our properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure our properties are safe, warm, and well-maintained.
  • Undertake a range of tasks including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting and decorating, and other general building maintenance.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to deliver maintenance and repair services.
  • Adhere to health and safety legislation and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Accountable for the quality of maintenance and repair work delivered.
  • Complete digital job tickets and raise follow-on works orders as necessary.
Requirements
  • G3 Certificate in unvented hot water.
  • Minimum of entry-level skills in construction to deliver general duties and minor repairs.
  • A level of experience above all else.
  • NVQ L2 in other related skills would be useful, but not essential.
  • Desirable: relevant construction and facilities management qualifications.
  • Have relevant post-experience.
  • Be competent and qualified to safely operate tools and equipment.
  • Understanding of health and safety responsibilities.
  • Understanding of safe systems of work.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work at pace while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to offer flexibility in working hours and to take part in the on-call rota.
  • Ability to work contracted hours over a 5/7 working pattern.
