Position OverviewThe role of the Engineering Apprentice Evaluator is to deliver comprehensive support, mentorship, and assessment for engineering apprentices within their respective workplaces.
Key Responsibilities- Guide apprentices through their progression towards achieving level 3 competency qualifications, ensuring that all knowledge, skills, and behaviors are effectively developed.
- Assess apprentices' work in accordance with the standards set by relevant awarding bodies, providing constructive feedback to facilitate their learning journey.
- Conduct regular reviews of apprentices, adhering to the guidelines established by funding regulations, utilizing both in-person meetings and virtual consultations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employers to enhance the learning experience of apprentices.
- Monitor apprentices' working environments to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, advocating for their welfare.
- Evaluate and provide feedback on apprentices' work in a timely manner, ensuring that assessments align with unit criteria.
- Perform observational assessments of apprentices executing engineering tasks at their workplaces.
The ideal candidate for the Engineering Apprentice Evaluator position will possess:
- A robust background in electrical and mechanical engineering, supported by substantial industrial experience.
- A thorough understanding of engineering apprenticeships and the associated qualification standards.
- Proficiency in various assessment methodologies relevant to apprenticeship standards.
- Knowledge of Internal Quality Assurance processes and compliance requirements.
- Time-served engineer with expertise in both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Relevant engineering qualification at level 3 or above.
- Functional Skills Level 2 or GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C or above.
- CAVA or equivalent assessor qualifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Teams.
- Recognized Training or Teaching Qualification.
- Internal Quality Assurance qualifications.
- IOSH Health and Safety certification.
- Experience with Smart Assessor E-portfolio and Pro Monitor software.
