Culinary Opportunities at Aramark

We are seeking a skilled Chef/Cook to join our team at RAF Leeming, Junior Ranks Mess, in Northallerton, North Yorkshire.

About the Role

This is a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive hourly rate of £12.00. The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week, with a mix of weekdays and weekends, including 1 in 4 Saturdays. Shifts will range from 7am to 8:30pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Cooking a variety of meals for our military customers
• Complying with all relevant food safety legislation
• Reducing kitchen waste and implementing processes to minimize wastage
• Supporting with food orders and checking for allergens
• Following recipe cards to prepare, cook, and serve meals
• Completing daily paperwork for due diligence
• Assisting with deliveries, stock checks, and placing orders
• Placing food orders and maintaining kitchen records
• Sharing responsibility with the Chef Manager/Catering Manager for checking, probing, and signing food deliveries
• Monitoring and recording temperatures of fridges, freezers, hot cabinets, and serveries
• Assisting in daily and weekly kitchen deep cleans
• Having full knowledge of all menu items served

Requirements

• Food hygiene certificate level 2 or willingness to work towards it on our e-learning platform
• Relevant culinary qualification desirable, but not required; apprenticeship schemes available
• Previous experience working in a kitchen
• Security clearance and DBS check required
