Job Title: Trainee Herdsperson

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Trainee Herdsperson. As a key member of our dairy farm team, you will play a vital role in the daily management of our herd and contribute to the overall success of our farm.

About the Role:

As a Trainee Herdsperson, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the daily management of the herd and ensuring animal welfare is the top priority.
  • Operating tractors and machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Maintaining the overall farm environment, ensuring it is tidy and safe to operate.
  • Working closely with the farm manager to develop your skills and knowledge in dairy farming.
  • Assisting with milking, dry cow management, calving, cell count, colostrum protocols, and fertility.
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with consultants, vets, and nutritionists.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A full UK driving license.
  • Proof of UK right to work.
  • Telehandler and forklift license (desirable).
