About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at Leigh Academy Milestone. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our teachers to deliver academic excellence and providing a safe and inclusive learning environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support teachers in delivering lessons and providing individualized support to students
  • Assist with personal care and medical needs of students, including administering medication and undertaking moving and handling procedures
  • Support students during physical activities, such as swimming, PE, and Forest School
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment by promoting social skills, emotional well-being, and academic achievement
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience of working with young people, either in an academic setting or as a voluntary worker
  • GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and maths
  • A commitment to personal learning and development, and a sincere commitment to sharing our long-term aims and drive for continuous improvement
