About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Team Leader to join our team at Liberty Speciality Steels. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team of skilled craftsmen in all aspects of the workplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of skilled craftsmen in plant maintenance and operations
  • Plan and delegate activities of team members and contractors
  • Monitor and control attendance and holidays
  • Assist in delivery of technical and safety training
  • Undertake technician role as required
  • Carry out PPM inspections
  • Coordinate and supervise other services and contractors
  • Write and review risk assessments, method statements, and procedures
  • Ensure business health and safety instructions are followed
  • Use the Maintenance Management System to its full capability
  • Undertake training to learn new skills
  • Involvement in plant improvement projects
  • Respond to breakdowns under own initiative
  • Deliver business communications to the team
Requirements
  • A recognised engineering apprenticeship (preferably HNC but minimum ONC level or equivalent)
  • Sound plant engineering knowledge and experience of industrial systems
  • Self-starting driven individual capable of leading a small team
  • Ability to work with cross-functional groups
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to methodically fault find any issues
  • Experience of working under permit systems or knowledge of how permit systems operate
  • A customer-focused attitude with an understanding of prioritisation with current resources
