Job Summary

The role of Graduate Metallurgist involves providing technical support to the Technical team for routine production tasks. This includes reviewing mechanical and chemical test results against customer specifications and liaising with the test laboratory. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for validating heat treatment charts, both in-house and with sub-contractors, as well as validating SAT reports. The Graduate Metallurgist will also be involved in the certification of product and will participate in internal audits and complete them as scheduled by the business. Furthermore, the candidate will process orders and enquiries, including technical contract review, route generation and assignment, and the generation of any necessary quality and method control documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Review mechanical and chemical test results against customer specifications.
  2. Validate heat treatment charts.
  3. Validate SAT reports.
  4. Certify product.
  5. Participate in internal audits.
  6. Process orders and enquiries.
Requirements
  1. Metallurgy or Materials Science degree level qualification.
  2. Solid understanding of the physical metallurgy of steel and nickel-based alloys.
