Stadler Rail Service UK Limited (SRS UK), a subsidiary of Stadler, specializes in providing maintenance services for an expanding client base within the UK. As we anticipate the integration of over 150 new Stadler trains into the UK Rail Network, we are excited about the opportunities this presents for career development within the UK Rail Industry.
We are seeking a Strategic Commercial and Legal Advisor to become an integral part of our Commercial Support team. Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial Support, this role entails offering guidance and assistance regarding commercial and legal matters that impact the organization. You will collaborate with the Head of Commercial Support on all UK contracts, providing essential support to colleagues and managers concerning contract modifications and the commercial and legal dimensions of organizational changes. Additionally, you will assist with specific projects and address any commercial or legal disputes that may arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and support on commercial and legal matters affecting the organization.
- Manage contract variations and organizational changes, developing effective solutions and recommendations.
- Analyze challenges and propose a range of solutions to fulfill contractual obligations.
- Lead and execute independent projects or components of larger initiatives to achieve organizational goals, facilitating necessary policy or procedural changes.
- Advise the management team on legal issues impacting the business, including legal challenges, claims, commercial disputes, and compliance matters.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, briefing notes, and presentations on commercial and legal topics.
- Foster and maintain productive relationships with clients, the UK Leadership Team, and colleagues across the Division/Group.
- Implement and oversee policies and procedures, including risk management strategies, to ensure the achievement of Business Plan objectives.
- Provide commercial and legal guidance to Location Managers and ensure the development and maintenance of risk mitigation strategies.
- Promote commercial awareness throughout the organization.
- Support all commercial negotiations and disputes, safeguarding the organization against potential claims.

- Proficiency in drafting legally compliant business correspondence.

Desirable Qualifications
- Legal knowledge and experience.
- Familiarity with commercial contracts.
- Basic project management skills with the ability to lead small to medium-sized projects.
- Understanding of the public transport sector and/or the UK Rail Industry.
