Role Overview

In this role, you will deliver technical assistance to end users, troubleshoot and resolve application-related challenges, and ensure the functionality and availability of applications through vigilant monitoring and proactive maintenance of essential systems within the applications portfolio. We are particularly interested in candidates with a solid background in a small to medium enterprise (SME) environment, where they have developed their skills across a diverse range of technologies, including PowerShell, .NET, SharePoint, SQL, database management, and MS modern workplace. Ideal candidates will possess proven experience in a data-driven, engineering, or consulting setting and demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for embracing innovation and adapting to new challenges. This position requires a versatile individual capable of managing multiple responsibilities, transitioning smoothly between various tasks, collaborating effectively with different teams, and devising creative solutions to complex problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting - Promptly investigate and resolve technical issues reported by end users, collaborating with them to identify root causes and provide effective solutions.
  • Technical Support - Offer guidance and assistance to users facing difficulties with applications, providing clear instructions for troubleshooting common issues.
  • Problem Resolution - Collaborate closely with development teams to address application-related problems, implementing solutions, including software fixes and enhancements.
  • Documentation - Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and knowledge base articles to enhance user understanding and application usage.
  • Monitoring - Monitor application performance metrics, utilizing these metrics to proactively address potential issues and optimize performance.
  • Performance Optimization - Work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for enhancing application performance, improving overall user experience by optimizing system responsiveness and efficiency.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in application support within a diverse applications environment, utilizing multiple programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of application support best practices.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., C#, Java, PowerShell, TypeScript).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively and propose innovative solutions, demonstrating tenacity in resolving even the most challenging issues.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and their services (e.g., Azure, AWS).
  • Understanding of Azure DevOps and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).
  • Experience with large-scale SharePoint deployments (cloud and server).
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases and their administration requirements.
