Apprentice Credit Controller

To drive the lowest possible debtor days by ensuring customers pay on time and in full. Bring all customer accounts up to date with no overdue balances left on the ledger.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor accounts receivable and allocate cash receipts in Sage and the application system.
- Generate and provide monthly statements to clients as per their specific requests.
- Resolve client queries promptly to ensure timely payment.
- Schedule meetings with customers to resolve accounting issues and finalize accounts.
- Actively identify when final accounts can be prepared.
- Raise manual invoices and credit notes as required to correct issues and debtor balances.
- Maintain good relations with customers and internal teams on a daily basis.
- Provide feedback and updates to the Credit Manager regularly.
- Maintain accurate records of all credit control activities.
- Develop and implement new procedures as needed.
- Support team improvements and assist the Credit Control Manager in other ad-hoc projects.
- Numerate.
- Customer-focused with a proven track record of dealing with various customers.
- Attention to detail with previous experience handling detailed information.
- Investigative/problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
- Finance background, ideally within the construction industry.
