Job Title: Ophthalmology Consultant with Subspecialty Interest in Glaucoma

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Ophthalmology Consultant with a subspecialty interest in Glaucoma to join our Transformation Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing ophthalmic subspecialty work, providing outpatient clinics, and surgical work.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and development of ophthalmic subspecialty work
  • Providing outpatient clinics and surgical work
  • Collaboration with a team of 10 Consultants, 4 Associate specialists, 2 speciality doctors, and 5 junior clinical fellows
  • Compliance with the 2003 Consultant Contract Terms and Conditions

Requirements:

  • Inclusion on the Specialist Register / Admission to the Register within 6 months of interview (CCST or CCT in Ophthalmology)
  • FRCOphth or show evidence of equivalent training and experience
  • Post Graduate Degree e.g. MD, PhD, MSc
  • Evidence of Accredited Clinical & Educational Supervision of Medical Learners
  • Broad experience in the management of all aspects of Ophthalmology
  • Research Skills: Publication of research articles, demonstrating understanding of research methodology and commitments
