The Competition and Regulatory Finance team is tasked with delivering high-caliber financial and commercial analysis to guide effective market interventions, shape policies, and safeguard the interests of consumers and businesses alike.

Role Responsibilities
This position offers the chance to conduct financial and commercial analyses across various CMA cases, including market assessments, merger evaluations, regulatory challenges, and enforcement actions.
You will collaborate with a dynamic team of approximately 130 economists, econometricians, data scientists, and statisticians, working on projects that span multiple locations.
Key analytical tasks may include:
- Evaluating suitable rates of return for regulatory assessments or specific sectors under scrutiny.
- Analyzing the financial performance of firms, including economic profitability evaluations.
- Examining firms' cost structures and business strategies.
- Assessing corporate finance decisions and strategic market choices.
In this role, you will lead the financial and commercial aspects of cases, defining project scopes, conducting and overseeing quantitative analyses, providing insights, ensuring quality, and managing risks associated with projects.
You may also contribute to developing practical solutions to identified challenges.
Additionally, you will play a role in the management and intellectual growth of the team and the broader finance professional community.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should demonstrate evidence for the following criteria:
- A post-graduate qualification in business, finance, economics, or accounting (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, MSc, or MBA) or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive experience in financial and/or commercial analysis, ideally with a focus on regulatory finance.
- Proven ability to communicate complex analyses to non-technical audiences effectively.
- Capability to build and maintain constructive relationships with key stakeholders.
- Commitment to personal development and fostering the growth of others.
