We are currently seeking an Automation Maintenance Specialist to join our dynamic team.

In this position, your potential earnings will exceed £51,051 annually.

Compensation: £51,051 per year, in addition to a night shift premium of £5,100 annually (pro rata), 22.5 days of annual leave plus public holidays, and a defined contribution pension plan. A weekend bonus for Saturday (£51 per attendance) and Sunday (£102 per attendance) is also applicable.

The ideal candidate will be expected to adhere to a shift rotation system, with some flexibility to accommodate our operational requirements, including voluntary overtime and occasional adjustments to shift patterns.

This role is a Pool position, necessitating a high level of adaptability as you will cover for other Technicians during their time off. Your standard shift will typically be during the day, from Monday to Friday.

The position will involve early, late, and night shifts, with a typical schedule outlined below:

Early – 06:15 to 14:15 Monday - Thursday and 07:00 – 13:55 Friday
Late - 13:45 to 22:00 Monday – Friday
Night – 21:50 to 06:25 Monday - Friday

Saturday – 06:45 to 18:30
Sunday – 07:00 to 17:00

Key Responsibilities

Shift attendance will total 40.0 hours per week - Full time.

You will be responsible for ensuring the availability and efficiency of automation systems through the execution of effective maintenance protocols.

Essential duties include:

Conducting maintenance activities, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance Engaging in continuous improvement initiatives Providing effective support to the Engineering Manager, Maintenance Team Leader, and Engineering Team Coaches, including completion of end-of-shift reports, fault logging, and data entry Diagnosing the root causes of automation failures and prioritizing corrective measures to meet operational processing needs Monitoring equipment performance and enhancing automation outputs in collaboration with operational stakeholders Identifying and managing Continuous Improvement projects from conception to implementation for machinery in the facility Demonstrating the ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve shared objectives

Candidate Profile

As a skilled multi-disciplinary engineer, you will possess qualifications in electrical and mechanical engineering (minimum ONC Electrical Engineering / NVQ Level 3 – or equivalent). You will have a solid understanding of Health & Safety regulations and hands-on experience in maintaining automation equipment, particularly Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). A flexible approach and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly are essential.

A full UK driving license is required, as you may occasionally need to travel to other locations.
