MERJE is in search of a Lead Collections Strategist to oversee the Mortgage Payment Support Division, focusing on the management of overdue mortgage accounts and enhancing payment support workflows.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will advocate for equitable customer outcomes through effective risk management, providing exceptional support to clients facing financial challenges.
- Direct the Mortgage Payment Support team to fulfill their essential function in reducing financial losses while ensuring the compliant and efficient recovery of overdue mortgage payments and maintaining customer relationships.
- Foster a cultural shift within the team, motivating colleagues to adapt, manage varied workloads, and proactively address customer needs through their preferred communication channels.
- Establish a high-performance environment with leaders dedicated to real-time training, constructive feedback, and coaching to improve team capabilities and enhance customer interactions with MERJE.
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess departmental effectiveness, providing regular updates on progress.
- Promote a customer-focused culture by implementing strategies for customer engagement and communication throughout the collections process.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage relationships with external partners to ensure compliance with industry regulations, legal standards, and internal policies.
- Leverage data-driven insights to achieve fair outcomes for customers through robust risk management and operational resilience.
- Guide operational teams to ensure quality management is effectively maintained.
Lead the execution of MERJE's policies, enhancing team knowledge in regulatory compliance and effective first-line risk management to protect both customers and the organization.
Strategic DevelopmentFormulate and execute departmental strategies aimed at optimizing the mortgage payment support process, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency enhancements.
QualificationsThe successful candidate will possess:
- Demonstrated experience in a Collections & Recoveries role, ideally in a senior leadership capacity, with comprehensive knowledge of mortgage collection regulations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven track record of cultivating high-performing teams.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed, data-driven decisions.
- Significant experience in leading transformational initiatives within a Collections & Recoveries environment.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development to maintain and enhance skills and expertise.
- Senior-level experience collaborating with various teams and stakeholders to ensure service delivery aligns with other business functions.
- Experience in developing and implementing effective performance metrics that drive improvements, yielding measurable benefits for both customers and the organization.
- Senior-level experience working with regulatory bodies and suppliers to ensure proactive, efficient, compliant, and timely service delivery.
