Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Canterbury. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience with 3D CAD software.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop mechanical products using 3D CAD software
  2. Liaise with manufacturing providers to ensure efficient and cost-effective production
  3. Be involved in new product introduction (NPI) and product development
  4. Create technical documentation and project reports
  5. Update 3D models and drawings
  6. Input parts into the MRP system and create BOMs
  7. Check drawings for sign off

Requirements:

  1. HNC/HND/ Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar work-based experience
  2. At least 3 years' experience in a similar Design Engineering role
  3. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
  4. Proficient using 3D CAD software; Creo would be advantageous
  5. Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
  6. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  7. Proficient using MS Office
  8. Excellent organisational and time management skills
