Job Title: Residential Childcare Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Worker to join our team in a specialist residential setting in the Fife countryside. As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children with autism and learning disabilities to live a fulfilled life.

About the Role:
  • Support the social and educational needs of children by accompanying them into classroom environments
  • Develop and carry out engaging activities based on the interests of the young people in the house
  • Act as a key worker to some children and support them on a one-to-one basis
  • Actively identify potential risks or escalation points and use positive behaviour management techniques
  • Co-ordinate wider care team to ensure consistency of care and messaging for young people
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a care setting with young people
  • Demonstrate understanding of legislation, behaviour management techniques and attachment theory
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with non-verbal children
  • Register under the PVG scheme
  • Full driving licence
  • SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent
