We are seeking a highly skilled Development Surveyor to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our property development team, you will play a crucial role in managing a range of development projects, focusing on maximising commercial value and achieving best value in property transactions.
Key Responsibilities- Project Management: Manage a portfolio of development projects, providing expert advice to support development programmes and ensuring delivery is achieved.
- Commercial Analysis: Explore alternative uses for our land and property to maximise commercial value, and negotiate commercial terms for disposals, acquisitions, and other development-related agreements.
- Technical Expertise: Use your technical expertise to progress schemes, oversee projects and work programmes, set targets, monitor performance, and review potential system changes.
- Consultant Management: Assist in the appointment of consultants and work with the procurement team to implement property development proposals.
- Reporting and Budgeting: Prepare and present reports summarising issues and their implications, ensuring they meet our guidelines, and report and manage capital expenditure in line with programme budgets.
- Professional Qualification: Professional qualification with a Degree in Estate Management or equivalent, or a postgraduate qualification or relevant experience in a commercial organisation or Local Authority.
- Relevant Experience: Proven, relevant practical experience and knowledge of marketing, disposal, and acquisition of land and buildings, as well as experience with Planning procedures and progressing work activities within professional guidelines or organisational policy.
- Skills and Qualities: In-depth knowledge of service-specific and professional issues, ability to persuade others and influence outcomes critical to the organisation, strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills, and ability to meet commercial and contractual deadlines and deliver on projects.
