Role Summary:

This position presents an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Raytheon Assured Position Navigation and Timing Systems team, part of the broader Systems & Products business unit, focusing on the development of Digital GPS Anti-Jam Systems and Alternative Navigation Solutions for military applications.

The role will encompass support across Raytheon's array of APNT products, delivering Systems Engineering expertise throughout the product lifecycle, from requirements gathering and analysis to design, testing, qualification, and certification activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Primarily supporting our flagship products, this role will involve providing assistance to the System Design Authority and Systems Engineering Team leadership for customer support, production assistance, and obsolescence management of our established products. This will require managing project requirements, generating technical documentation, conducting Systems Analysis and Design work, and participating in technical design reviews.

Furthermore, the Systems Team will rely on your support in creating bid proposal materials and submitting bids in response to customer inquiries, as well as aiding in the definition and design support for our next-generation products. The successful candidate will engage in development studies and investigative activities related to product performance while collaborating with various internal stakeholders.

The role necessitates working in a highly technical environment, providing support to the team while also working independently. Laboratory work will be integral for product testing. Tackling complex challenges and delivering solutions that adhere to company processes in a timely manner is a crucial aspect of this position. A successful candidate will seamlessly integrate into a large team to achieve collective goals.

Candidate Qualifications:

Essential

Experience throughout the systems engineering lifecycle from requirements through to project completion. Proficiency in generating technical documentation at all levels. Understanding of policies, practices, and procedures, with the ability to communicate these effectively to the team. Ability to collaborate within a team and adhere to project directives. Capability to work independently, with minimal oversight from Team Leaders and Management. Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent industry certification.

Desirable

Familiarity with GNSS systems and receiver characteristics. Experience with the IBM Rational DOORS toolset. Background in RF (including Antennas) and Digital Hardware design and testing. Algorithm development experience, including Modelling in MATLAB/Simulink. Proficiency with SysML or UML in a Systems Engineering context. Experience with configuration management systems.

Work Culture

37-hour working week, although hours may vary based on role requirements. Early finish at 1:30 PM on Fridays to kickstart your weekend. More formal flexible working arrangements can be requested and assessed based on the role. Up to 5 paid volunteering days each year.
