Join Our Team as a Community Caregiver

The Richmond Fellowship Scotland is proud to offer a unique care and support service known as Shared Lives. This initiative is designed for individuals aged 16 and above who aspire to live independently within their communities, supported by a caring family and a network of community connections.

What is Shared Lives?

Shared Lives is akin to fostering, but tailored for adults. It promotes a lifestyle that feels natural and fulfilling for those requiring assistance, ensuring that the caregiving experience is rewarding and not merely a job.

Available Support Options:

  • Respite/Short Breaks: Individuals can stay with a Shared Lives caregiver for a temporary respite from their home environment. This could range from an overnight stay to a couple of weeks, especially beneficial for those transitioning from hospital care.
  • Full Support: This option allows individuals to reside full-time with a Shared Lives caregiver, becoming part of their family life.

Requirements:

We ask that you have a spare bedroom and some experience in care. This role allows you to work from home, offering a competitive weekly income along with tax relief, training, and ongoing support.

Important Note:

All applicants must currently reside within the designated area to be considered for these roles. An enhanced PVG check will be required for all successful candidates, and all household members over the age of 18 will need a standard PVG check.
