Job Description

About Us:

Comsurv Consultancy Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial management, subcontractor management, cost control, and coordination for large construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Commercial management and contract administration of Subcontractors, including management of Early Warning and Compensation Event process.

• Assist with the production of Applications for Payment to Clients in accordance with the contract.

• Ensure Subcontractor Applications for Payment are assessed in a timely manner, including site visits and measurement (where applicable) to undertake the assessment.

• Develop and present cash flow forecasts.

• Manage and develop junior surveyors.

• Identify and manage opportunities to maximize margin.

• Involvement with tender processes, including liaison with procurement teams and/or presenting recommendations on tender packages for award to demonstrate value for money.

• Work directly with operational and delivery teams to identify, escalate, mitigate, manage, and price risks and opportunities.

• Control costs on a monthly basis and present variances in overall project position to wider business functions. This includes producing project-specific Cost and Value Reports (CVR) for presentation.

• Ensure full compliance with client commercial processes.

• Lead and agree final account processes with Subcontractors and Clients.

• Undertake estimates for contracts awarded.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 7 years' experience within the construction industry.

• Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a similar role.

• Experience delivering projects from cradle to grave.

• Experience working with NEC3 and/or NEC4 forms of contract at both Subcontract and Client level.

• A qualification in Engineering or Quantity Surveying (i.e., Degree or Masters).

• Excellent negotiation skills.

• Knowledge and understanding of general sub-contracting principles.

• Ability to provide contract advice to wider teams.

• Ability to use own initiative and make decisions.

• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

• Results and delivery focus.

• IT literate and in particular, excellent Excel skills to manipulate and manage large amounts of data as required.

• Experience in the rail sector.

Desirable:

• Membership of a recognized Professional Institute (i.e., RICS, CICES, CIArb) or working towards qualification.
