Role: Highways Driver Chargehand - Reactive

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Highways Driver Chargehand to join our established team. As a safety-first organization, we focus on delivering minor civil engineering projects within the Highways department.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Execute repairs and improvements to built environment infrastructure with a commitment to safety.
  • Implement safe working practices and adhere strictly to health and safety regulations.
  • Operate a range of vehicles up to 32 tonnes, ensuring safe and efficient transportation.
  • Effectively allocate workload and monitor the performance of your team members.
  • Respond to highways emergency call outs and participate in winter services as required.

Your Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in civil engineering projects and construction activities.
  • A strong understanding of design drawings, specifications, and civil engineering techniques.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations, including COSHH and HAVS.
  • NVQ Level 2 or above in Construction Operations.
  • Current Class C license with Certificate of Professional Competence.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business.
